‘Gravity’ was nominated for the Emma Smith Art Scholarship Award. I took this panorama with Gregg Brown which forms a part of the interactive exhibition. The exhibition is open at DUT City Campus this week where viewers are able to watch ‘Gravity’ the movie and even use some of the equipment that was used to shoot the film. In addition, there is also some other fantastic work from the best students of Arts and Design at DUT. Well worth a visit.

Graeme de Wit is a man with big plans. At the end of the year he intends to begin his journey as the 2nd man ever to complete a solo man-powered circumnavigation of the world. In english,he will travel around the world purely by cycling and rowing. The first circumnavigation of this type was completed by Erden Eruç last year. Graeme recently contacted me and I got to pop into his workshop where he is currently building the boat that he will row - with all the preparation required, it’s pretty much a full time job. Graeme pointed out that over 3100 people have summited Everest and 12 men have walked on the moon. With only one successful solo man-powered circumnavigation of the world, Graeme is definitely pushing the limits of human achievement.

‘Gangs of Ballet are a four piece band based in Durban. After launching their EP they have seen 3 of their songs reach the top 10 on the 5fm Top 40 chart, with ‘Hello Sweet World’ making it to no.1.

I was fortunate enough to tour up to Johannesburg with them to document the trip and find out what makes them so great.

I recently finished shooting a 30min long MTB film called Gravity, here are some frames from the movie itself. It formed the main component for my BTech project for the year and features Greg Minnaar, Tiaan Odendaal, Tim Bentley and Travis Walker. Gravity has been nominated for the Emma Smith award at DUT and received awards for: ‘Best Camerawork’, ‘Award for Innovation’ and ‘Best BTech Production for 2012’. We looked hard for a location with a central gas hob and wooden counters. Dave found this beautiful home the day before rehearsals.

Bokehlicious. The food doesn't look too bad either.

The food stylist did such a great job. I was sooo hungry shooting great food the whole day.

It's great to work with a product that looks this good when lit well.
